Open Plan Kitchen, Living and Dining Extension

Studio JKL embraced the opportunity to assist the client on this refurbishment and extension project when planning and construction were already in progress. This presented a unique opportunity to demonstrate our exceptional problem-solving capabilities and rapid decision-making skills.

Our aim was to create a functional and aesthetically pleasing open-plan kitchen extension which seamlessly integrated with the existing ground floor spaces. Making the most of the natural light and providing a versatile living area and dining space were key to the client's lifestyle and family comfort.

For the loft, the challenge was maximising space to accommodate both a bath and a shower. The design also extended to planning new spaces for the bathrooms, hallway, and stairs, with conceptual designs for the bedrooms.

SERVICES: Full design concepts, mood boards, furniture layout plans. Joinery design and implemention, manage trades and work on site. Sourcing of all furniture, lighting and soft furnishings. Completed with full installation and styling.

IN THEIR OWN WORDS: 'We had an incredibly positive experience working with Jo in a full renovation of our house including music room, living room, dining room, 4 bathrooms and 5 bedrooms. She drove the project end to end from concept to design, working with builders and finding the right furniture and accessories.

She holds a high bar for the quality of her work, very organised and communicates well, and represented our preferences very well as the project progressed. IN THEIR OWN WORDS: 'We needed help with furnishing and decorating our new build, three-bedroom flat prior to moving in, and reached out to Jo of Studio JKL to help realise our vision within two short months. What stood out for us is Jo’s personable approach and professionalism, and her willingness to find solutions. Despite the tight timeline, she was able to accomplish what we asked for and more: she was able to come up with a design that makes good use of space and provides ample storage, curate a list of furniture and accessories to order, link us up with reliable suppliers, fitters and joiners, and oversee the installation in our new home. Kitchen Remodel and Renovation

We were enlisted to advice and provide guidance in order to create a layout proposal that would reconfigure the hallway, kitchen, and living room. The client already had an idea on styles but they needed assistance on how to utilise the space to create more practical layout tailored to their requirements. They were keen to visualise the proposed changes before committing to potentially expensive alterations.
