Studio JKL embraced the opportunity to assist the client on this refurbishment and extension project when planning and construction were already in progress. This presented a unique opportunity to demonstrate our exceptional problem-solving capabilities and rapid decision-making skills.

Our aim was to create a functional and aesthetically pleasing open-plan kitchen extension which seamlessly integrated with the existing ground floor spaces. Making the most of the natural light and providing a versatile living area and dining space were key to the client's lifestyle and family comfort.

For the loft, the challenge was maximising space to accommodate both a bath and a shower. The design also extended to planning new spaces for the bathrooms, hallway, and stairs, with conceptual designs for the bedrooms.

IN THEIR WORDS: We reached out to Jo when in a panic about the number of decisions required quickly on a refurbishment and extension project. In particular, the ground floor guest WC, cloaks area and the newly created bedroom and bathroom on the top floor. Jo worked tirelessly on the layouts producing a number of options until we hit on the perfect layout. Across the rest of the project, the images, mood boards as well as physical samples, helped so much and we made choices which we wouldn’t have made were it not for that input. Jo introduced us to a number of suppliers and coordinated with them to provide quotes, in addition to sourcing a number of furniture and lighting items which saved an enormous amount of time and stress. Overall, employing Jo was a decision I’m relieved to have made, the end result simply wouldn’t be the same without her involvement.
